Three including two foreigners shot injured in Karachi

KARACHI: Three persons including two foreigners were shot injured on Monday near Teen Talwar in Karachi, ARY News reported.

The injured have been shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC) for medical treatment.

Taking notice of the incident, Sindh Home Minister Suhail Anwar Siyal directed DIG Police South Azad Khan for inquiry into the incident.

ARY News correspondent Nazir Shah said the Chinese citizens were targeted in the attack. Sindh Inspector General Police Allah Dino Khawaja has also taken notice of the incident and directed for immediate investigation, he said.

The DIG South said apparently it did not seem to be a robbery bid. Nine bullet shells were found from the place of incident as further probe was underway in this regard, he added.

High officials of Chinese consulate and senior police and intelligence agencies’ officials visited the place of incident and the injured at JPMC.

“One Chinese national is in critical situation who received bullet injuries in his head. He has been put on ventilator. Doctors say he has slim chances of survival,” said the ARY News correspondent.

The incident seemed be a coordinated targeted attack, said the police.
