LAHORE: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari on Monday termed former prime minister Nawaz Sharif a “national-level thief who stole from farmers, labourers and the overall general populace of Pakistan”, ARY News reported.
Speaking to a rally in Lahore’s Mochi Gate area, the PPP co-chairman claimed that Nawaz Sharif is trying to establish a monarchy in Pakistan and convert it into a land where he and his family owns all businesses.
“We will not let him (or his party) rule, he looted all, if we allow him to rule over us now even God will not forgive us,” said Zardari.
The former president maintained that the ousted PM and PML-N leader Mian Nawaz Sharif is working against Pakistan’s interests to strengthen his family’s rule over the country which makes him a national menace.
“I pray to God to free Pakistan from their (Sharif family) rule so we can make a Pakistan where we can follow the ideals set by Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, Shaheed Benazir Bhutto and a Pakistan where Bilawal Bhutto and his children could live with pride,” said the PPP co-chairman.
Zardari concluded his speech by claiming that PPP will sweep the upcoming general elections and will win from every province including Punjab.
