Mushahid Hussain Syed resigns from Senate, joins PML-N

LAHORE:  Pakistan Muslim League (Quaid-e-Azam) Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed on Sunday stepped down from his seat in the Senate and joined the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N).

The senator called on former premier and PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif here at his Lahore residence at the latter’s invitation, where he decided to join the ruling party.

Close aides of Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz were also present during the meeting.

Mushahid also announced to have resigned from membership of the Senate ahead of end of his tenure in the upper house of parliament.

He is reported to have sent his resignation to the PML-Q head Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain.

He is among those 52 senators whose tenure is to end on March 11, this year.
