Faisalabad girl arrested after faking own abduction

FAISALABAD: Faisalabad police on Thursday claimed to have arrested a girl for faking her abduction and receiving ransom from her parents, ARY News reported.

According to CPO Faisalabad, the girl, Amna Samreen, along with her friend Talha Ejaz faked her abduction and received more than 200, 000 rupees as ransom for her release.

The girl went missing on February 26 and her parents paid the ransom for her release but in the meanwhile police traced location from the phone calls received by her parents and arrested the duo from Lahore.

“The girl befriended Talha on Facebook and planned the crime together. She ran away with him from Faisalabad’s Allied Hospital then Talha contacted her father and received the ransom,” said the police officer adding that the arrestees received more than 200, 000 rupees as ransom.

As police raided their hideout in Lahore and arrested them, the girl told police that she was there of her own will and admitted that she had not been kidnapped.
